RESIDENCY
麗江工作室北海道駐留項目 / Lijiang Studio Residency at Hokkaido
A cross-cultural exchange programme between musicians from mainland China and Japan for workshops and live performances, and vice versa. The first session happened during Sept 7 to 20th at Shiraoi, Hokkaido. “Art With/out Small Children” takes place on 14 September in Tobiu Art Community Hall, a former schoolhouse in Shiraoi-gun, Hokkaido. Curated by Jay Brown, founder/director of Lijiang Studio, China, and Japanese composer, sound designer and film maker Yasuhiro Morinaga for the Tobiu Art Festival.

– Geographic and anthropology reseach (about Shiraoi, Ainu people, etc.)
– Online reseach (google map and instagram hashtag)
OneBeat 2012
OneBeat is an international music exchange that celebrates musical collaboration and social engagement through innovative people-to-people diplomacy. An initiative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the groundbreaking New York-based music organization Bang on a Can’s Found Sound Nation, OneBeat employs collaborative original music as a potent new form of cultural diplomacy.
